The business philosophy of Buquet & LeBlanc was founded on the quality of its employees at all levels. This philosophy continues today with the greatest emphasis placed on strong managerial abilities. This shift in focus parallels the evolution of the business from "craft" to "management," which in turn parallels the changing nature of the construction industry. Buquet & LeBlanc, Inc. has become a business consisting of a group of college educated professionals with extensive experience in managing the process of construction.
Buquet & LeBlanc utilizes a "team" approach to management. Though each officer has a well- defined area of responsibility, working together as a team provides for interaction among all the personnel. The team concept also provides organizational depth. Each officer has the experience to provide capable backup to those in other areas of responsibility. This provides the stability and flexibility needed to operate successfully since 1945.
An important factor in the success of Buquet & LeBlanc is the fact that its management consists of the principals of the firm. This allows clients to deal with an owner of Buquet & LeBlanc, Inc. from the beginning of negotiations through the completion of the project punch list. The day-to-day hands-on involvement of the owners of Buquet & LeBlanc assures clients that their project will receive the continuous personal attention of a principal of the firm.
Baton Rouge's oldest active building general contracting firm, Buquet & LeBlanc was established in 1945 by Al Buquet and Elegie LeBlanc. Buquet & LeBlanc quickly established a reputation of quality, integrity, and dependability.
Robert M. Stuart and Curtis L. Patton joined the company in 1955, eventually assuming management positions and full ownership. While guiding Buquet & LeBlanc through a period of substantial growth, Mr. Stuart and Mr. Patton also transformed the Company from the "craftsman" approach of its founders into a management organization. This natural evolution of a business entity kept Buquet & LeBlanc, Inc. well ahead of its competitors and furthered the reputation as Baton Rouge's best General Contractor.
Mr. Stuart and Mr. Patton began grooming their successors in the early 1970's by employing Alfred C. Pickett, William T. Firesheets, and Christopher N. Stuart. Since 1985, Buquet & LeBlanc has been owned and managed by Alfred Pickett (retired 2011), William Firesheets, Christopher Stuart (retired 2003), Gary Noel (retired 2015), and Robert Bogan. Robin Liles and Jake Mayo became stockholders in 2008 and 2012, respectively, and in early 2016, Rob became President and Jake became Vice President. Buquet & LeBlanc, Inc. has continued to grow and prosper since that time, celebrating 70 years of success in 2015.
Buquet & LeBlanc continues to provide career opportunities for its employees. Plans are underway to ensure the continued development of young managers and, ultimately, the perpetuation of Buquet & LeBlanc, Inc.
